Community
What is Community?
Community is at the heart of the journey – a community seeking God. We were created to be in community, with God and with others and when brokenness entered the world (it’s that sin thing), community was broken. Our connection to God and our connection to each other was ripped apart. We believe that God’s heart, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is to reconnect us with himself and reconnect us with each other. Put another way; God desires that we live in community and community is an expression of love from God and a way to receive God’s love.
God didn’t design us to live as loners, it’s why he made Eve for Adam because it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone. So part of living out God’s love is to live out our lives connected to each other. Through that connection, we can live in community with others because God lives in us through his Holy Spirit. We get to live in community with God through others.
This is the reason we provide a variety of ways for people to connect. Our ministry is far more relational and less “programmatic”. Meaning we have some “plug-n-play” ministry opportunities, but we believe that 95% of ministry takes place in the context of relationships.
Opportunities to Grow and Connect
Some of the ways we provide opportunities for people to connect are through worship, discipleship and just getting together and hanging out. We believe that people want grow and become who God wants them to become. We want to provide an environment where you can do this with others.
Worship: Every Sunday we get together to worship God. We do this for a couple of different reasons. The first may be obvious if you are a follower of Jesus. Worship connects us to God and when we worship in community with others, something unique takes place – God meets us. It’s not that God doesn’t meet us individually (he certainly does) but something unique (if not a little inexplicable) happens when we gather together to worship him. We also get together because it’s an opportunity to connect with people, get to know each other better and create opportunities for deeper connection.

Opportunities to Serve
One of the ways to connect and grow in community is to serve together with others. One of our core values is that people use the gifts and talents God has given them. Ephesians 2:10 and Ephesians 4:1-16 says that God has given us gifts to do work that he has prepared in advance for us to do. We do our best to provide an environment and opportunity for people to use their gifts and talents through a variety of ministry outlets both in the journey and in the broader Longmont/Boulder County area.
We have a variety of plug-n-play opportunities including working in childrens and youth ministry, worship ministry, prayer ministry, hospitality ministry, events ministry, a partnership with HOPE for Longmont and Agape Family Services homeless ministry and a partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

Connecting Online
There are a couple of ways to connect online too. We live stream our services on YouTube. Each week our messages are online and you can find them here or subscribe via iTunes. We’re also on Facebook (check out our photo gallery there) so you can find us there and keep up to date on the latest things happening around the journey.
